Joel Houston is the winner of this year’s “Where’s the Box?™” Scavenger Hunt! The scavenger hunt, a two-week program, was sponsored by the Early Choices initiative designed to bring attention to the safe disposal of prescription medicine and over-the-counter drugs. Don’t forget, there are two drug drop boxes in Early County: one in the lobby of the Early County Jail and another one at the sheriff’s office in the Early County Courthouse.
During the Scavenger Hunt, our mascot, Rex, was featured on vinyl clings around town, and residents were challenged to find as many of the 20 clings as possible and post to either Facebook or Instagram. Out of an amazing 186 entries, the most we’ve had in three years of hosting this event, Houston’s name was drawn as the winner. He is the proud recipient of several gift cards to local establishments. The staff at Early Choices would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in this fun awareness event.
Early Choices, a collection of initiatives, was formed in 2012 and addresses many specific needs, issues and concerns of Early County residents. Visit earlychoices.org for more information.
